Quick Gifts Answer

Quick tip: One gift per villager per day — birthday gifts may grant a large bonus. Check the relationship menu after every gift.

Safe gift testing checklist

Follow this before you batch-gift unknown items — one test at a time beats guessing.

  1. 1

Save before gifting when testing unknown items — retail KI-01 still warns against force-quitting during save

  2. 2

Test one item per villager — do not batch unknown gifts on night one

  3. 3

On patch 1.1.41+, Seaweed and silent-NPC gift bugs were fixed — still save before festivals and Loveage gift exchange

  4. 4

Record reaction words (loved/liked/neutral/disliked) in the in-game relationship menu and Gift Tracker

  5. 5

Found a mismatch? Report via /help#report so we can update community rows

How to Give Gifts

  1. 1

Walk up to a villager and start a conversation.

  2. 2

Select Give → Gift from the dialogue menu.

  3. 3

Choose one item from your inventory to hand over.

🚫 Gifts to Avoid

Trash, Wood, Ore, and Critters are the widest friendship traps in post-launch guides — nearly every villager hates them (Death loves Trash). Common Mushroom is another frequent landmine. Do not batch-gift unknown materials on night one.

  • TrashNearly all villagers: Widely hated — Death is the usual exception
  • WoodNearly all villagers: Building material — keep for homestead, not gifts
  • Ore / metal barsNearly all villagers: Crafting inputs — copper ore and similar are common friendship traps
  • CrittersMost villagers: Caught bugs and critters are widely hated as gifts
  • Common MushroomMany villagers: Frequent landmine — Evan, Noel, and Sabrina among those who dislike it
  • Onion Seeds / Pink Conch ShellMultiple NPCs: Often disliked for Sabrina, Orlock, and others

💎 Universal Loved Gifts

Diamond and Golden Egg are loved by every character — rare, so daily gifting usually means flowers or handmade bouquets. Still test one item at a time and log reactions.

Diamond

Loved by every character in launch guides — rare, save for birthdays or key heart levels

Golden Egg

Same universal loved tier as Diamond — another high-value fallback

Custom Bouquet

Crafted flower-arranging output — Llemi loves it; strong daily-safe handmade pick for most villagers

Handmade Flower Bouquet

Flower-arranging output — a solid pick when you cannot farm Diamonds yet

📅 Gift Limits & Daily Routine

Daily gifting caps and quality bonuses appear in launch guides — treat as guidance and confirm on your save.

Daily limit

Multiple launch guides agree: 1 gift per villager per day — confirm on your save.

Item quality

Community guides say higher-quality items may grant an extra friendship bonus — needs in-game check.

Missing days

Community guides say skipping a few days is not disastrous — friendship decays slowly.

Safe method

Save before gifting if possible, test one item per villager, log reactions in Gift Tracker — not batch unknown gifts on night one.

Tip: Multiple launch guides agree on the one-gift-per-day cap — quality bonuses and decay rates still need an in-game check on your save.

🎂 Birthday Gifts

Birthday gifting grants a large friendship multiplier in launch guides — exact rate varies by save. Sample birthdays:

VillagerBirthday
OrlockWinter 16
SabrinaWinter 23

🪡 Handmade Gifts

Grow flowers

Plant moonlit flower crops — separate a gift-test patch on /farming-guide so experiments do not eat staples.

Gift-test patch

Flower arranging

Arrange bouquets at the flower-arranging station — usually safe gifts for most villagers.

Crafting guide

Embroidery

Craft embroidery pieces — handmade gifts that tend to go over well.

🎮 Date Mini-Games

Romance dates are mini-games, not cutscenes — wrong choices can cost friendship hearts.

Bouquet assembly date

Romance dates include a flower-bouquet assembly mini-game — wrong choices can lower friendship.

Marshmallow roasting date

Another date type roasts marshmallows over a fire — guides say Death loves very burnt marshmallows.

Date failure

Failed date mini-games deduct friendship. Too many rejections can trigger a breakup with a cooldown period.

🎨 Color Matching Guide

Community guides describe a color-matching pattern — gift flowers that match each villager's palette. Unlisted palettes need an in-game check.

Palette rows below are community-sourced starting points — confirm loved flowers in the relationship menu on your save.
